HGV Technician
Mostell Logistics (part of the Browns Food Group) is the transport function for one of Scotland’s leading food manufactures. We have a fleet of 30+ DAF Tractor Units, 40+ mixed fridge trailers, 10+ rigids/large vans & 50+ company cars.
We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician who will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our HGV and trailer fleet, ensuring optimal performance and road worthiness.
Key Result Areas:
- Maintenance – maintaining our fleet of vehicles and trailers. Including; troubleshooting, maintenance, ensuring downtime is minimised to ensure operational efficiency, fault diagnosis, ensuring the fleet are compliant with Roadworthiness Regulations. Ad hoc repairs & maintenance on company cars.
- Health & Safety – adhering to H&S standards.
- MOT’s / servicing – MOT preparation.
- Defects – respond to defect reporting processes.
- Ad hoc – road testing, assist with breakdowns, paperwork / liaising with office, record keeping, face of the company for customer / suppliers on site.
- Workshop – ensure all facilities, equipment and tools are clean, tidy and well maintained.
- Tyres – ensure accurate records are kept of any changes for Tyre Management system.
- Parts – assist Workshop Administrator in sourcing best value parts as required. Ensure stocks are updated as & when required.
Person Specification:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in HGV Mechanics
- HGV Class 1 license is an advantage but not a must
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Hours of Work: 4 on 4 off Dayshift 6.00am – 6.00pm
Salary: £21.85 per hour, plus £50 MOT bonus
