The Waunarlwydd/ Swansea operation now have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Apprentice to join the team.
Role Summary:
Working as an apprentice within the Planning Department, providing a first-class service to the organisation while supporting planning activities and business operations.
Based at the Waunarlwydd site, this role offers the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, and experience within the planning function. As a development position, it is designed to support future progression and career growth within the Planning Department.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support with scheduling and re-scheduling of material as required, working with production planners, planners and operations personnel, ensuring reasons are captured and reviewed on a frequent basis, in order for potential improvement activities to be undertaken.
- Assist with actioning yearly price update in SAP on all customer orders after account manager review.
- Will monitor all customer backlogs and customer order acceptance.
- Support with creating and maintaining of production plans through key resource, working closely with operations and planning, to ensure adherence to plan to meet OPD.
- Support to ensure WTLs or schedules/plans are available lineside in operations.
- Support with 4 week look-ahead meetings.
- Will support the line walk daily & Cube meetings.
- Assist with updating customer portals when required.
- Liaise with customers on any potential problems with their orders or if delivery dates cannot be met. Checking to see if there are any alternatives we can offer to avoid delays.
- Will provide customers full support (via emails, phone calls) for all enquiries.
- Support with raising outwork Purchase Orders and adding operations in SAP for rework, or deviations as required to ensure flow of material in operations for subcontractor out work. Will generate purchase orders for external and intra company outwork. GRN of outwork purchase orders.
- Stocking of Mother cards and issuing child cards to ensure production requirements are met.
- Will work closely with various departments including procurement, production, engineering, quality, finance.
- Will raise and support with customer complaints.
- Support schedulers with customer dispatch & PGI process when required.
- Support schedulers with Purchase Order creation when required.
- Support with creation and good issue of recovery cards.
- Support review of current duties and responsibilities and identify improved process responsiveness and capability, including creating SOP as required.
- Support stock take process, working in a cross functional team; including responsibility for Subcontractor stock take activities.
- Support Sales Order Entry when required, ensuring all required checks are carried out.
- Support with completing Order verification sheets.
- Support with yearly price update in SAP on all customer orders after account manager review.
Education/ Qualification/ Knowledge:

- Minimum of 5 GCSEs required (equivalent to C or above) to include English & Mathematics essential.
Experience:
- Training will be provided in all key aspects of the role.
- Work or voluntary experience preferable.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels are essential.
Technical Competencies:
- Demonstrable computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Access.
