We’re open to discussing flexible working and different ways of making this role work for you.
About the role
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior treasury role with real influence — shaping how we fund the business, manage risk and engage with financial markets.
As the Assistant Group Treasurer, you’ll report into and work closely with the Group Treasurer and play a central role in how we manage billions of pounds of funding and financial risk. You’ll lead key financing activities, help shape our risk strategy and be right at the heart of major decisions that support the long-term future of the business.
You’ll take ownership of high-profile projects — from bond issuances and loan facilities through to managing interest rate, inflation, FX and commodity exposures — and build strong relationships with banks, investors and rating agencies along the way.
You’ll own investor relations and be directly involved in senior internal and external stakeholder engagement, and you’ll be a visible leader in the organisation, deputising for the Group Treasurer when needed.
This is a high-impact role offering depth and variety, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders, external markets and strategic decision-making within a well-established but forward-looking organisation.
So, if you’re looking for a move where you can step up, broaden your scope and really shape how treasury operates, this is it.
About You
We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in treasury and a desire to take on a broader, more strategic role.
You must be a motivated and proactive self-starter with strong technical expertise, a commercial mindset and a keenness to continue learning and developing.
You’re likely to have:
- Strong and demonstrable experience in corporate treasury or banking / corporate finance.
- Significant exposure to financing and risk management transactions across multiple formats and structures.
- The confidence to work with and influence senior stakeholders inside and outside the business.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to distil complex topics and present them clearly.
We value experience and drive above formal qualifications, but you may hold treasury qualifications from the ACT or CTP, accounting or finance credentials such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CFA, or a bachelor’s degree.
