Job Overview
We are a growing family-run sofa and furniture manufacturer with a reputation for producing high-quality, handcrafted products. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Sofa Production Manager to lead our sofa manufacturing operation and help drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with proven experience in sofa production who takes pride in delivering exceptional products.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the sofa production department.
- Manage production schedules to ensure customer orders are completed on time.
- Lead, motivate, and develop production staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and product quality are maintained.
- Monitor production performance, productivity, and efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase output.
- Manage stock levels of materials and liaise with purchasing where required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the factory.
- Work closely with the sales, design, upholstery, cutting, sewing, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Resolve production issues quickly while maintaining quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience managing sofa production within a sofa manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of the complete sofa manufacturing process, including:
- Frame assembly
- Foam cutting and fitting
- Upholstery
- Fabric and leather handling
- Quality control
- Final inspection
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to organise production efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good communication skills and a hands-on approach.
