Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Low Loader Driver to operate specialised transport equipment for the safe and efficient movement of construction, horticultural, and landscaping materials. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of landscape maintenance, mechanical systems, and construction site requirements. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team, supporting various projects that require precise handling and transportation of heavy equipment and materials. Applicants must demonstrate excellent driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, excavators, irrigation systems, and general maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate low loader vehicles to transport construction and landscaping equipment across various sites.
- Load and unload machinery such as excavators, irrigation systems, and gardening tools using appropriate hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are maintained before each journey.
- Assist with site preparation and maintenance tasks including gardening, horticulture work, and general site upkeep.
- Support with the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of equipment as required.
- Follow all health and safety regulations during transportation and on-site activities.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment while adhering to project schedules.
Experience
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery, power tools, and irrigation systems is advantageous.
- Prior experience operating low loader vehicles or similar heavy transport equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, excavators, and other construction or horticultural machinery.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites and transportation operations.
- A valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles is essential.
