Full job description

Pentagon Freight Services are looking for an enthusiastic Logistics Coordinator to join our team based at our Aberdeen location. The role will involve coordinating and arranging transportation of goods via all transport modes and dealing with customs and shipping documentation in line with client directives and PFS standard operating procedures.

Main duties include:

Facilitate the transportation of goods from one destination to another, including arranging transportation and orchestrating deliveries to meet internal and external customer demands with a proactive approach to minimise delays and operational impact.
Create customs and shipping documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists and clearance instructions are in line with relevant requirements for imports and exports.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations for all clients.
Obtain export and import entries to complete logistics files required to satisfy audit requirements.

Liaise with freight forwarders to ensure efficient movement of goods.
Managing clients HMRC records where required.
Maintaining good knowledge and thorough understanding of HMRC regulations, incoterms and customs commodity codes
Attend loadout meetings and advise on all aspects of logistics and customs matters.
Customs compliance check import and export entries and handling of amendments with HMRC.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics, importing, exporting, customs or similar roles, preferably covering air, sea, and road shipments.
Strong customs experience.
Excellent Microsoft office skills, particularly Excel.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work to own initiative, and as part of a team.
Good organisation skills and an ability to react to suit operational demands, must be able to organise time effectively and prioritise tasks to cope with fluctuating workloads.
Ability to form good relationships, with clients, colleagues and vendors.
High accuracy in checking and processing information and attention to detail.
