Full job description

24 - 27hours per week - times flexible to suit successful candidate

Herb Fed Ltd, based within a mile of Easingwold town centre, supply high welfare Free Range chickens and turkeys to independent butchers, wholesalers, farm shops and Michelin star restaurants across the country.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a friendly family run business and be part of a dynamic & growing business. Days & times worked can be flexible to suit both the business and the successful candidate.

Job role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Finance & HR Administrator to oversee the day-to-day financial administration and HR support within our business. This is a varied role combining bookkeeping, payroll, and HR administration, ensuring the smooth running of our financial processes while supporting our employees throughout their employment.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, trustworthy, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance

Accounts to trial balance
VAT returnsPayroll
Bank reconciliations
Banking
Debt management
Sales & Purchase Ledger
Responding to customer enquiries and investigate discrepancies as required
Maintaining & growing good customer relations

Payroll

Prepare and process weekly & monthly payroll
Administer pensions and statutory payments
Ensure payroll records are accurate and compliant with current legislation.
Liaise with payroll providers where applicable.

Human Resources

Administer recruitment processes, including preparing job adverts, arranging interviews, and issuing employment contracts.
Manage employee onboarding and offboarding.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
Monitor annual leave, sickness absence, and other employee records
Support managers with HR administration and employment documentation.
Assist with performance review administration and training records.
Ensure HR policies and procedures remain up to date.
Support compliance with employment legislation and GDPR.

Key Skills

Experience using Sage50 Accounts, Sage50 Payroll & Sage Auto Entry
We are considering changing our accounts package, experience on Xero would also be an advantage
Debt Management Experience
Good communication & time management skills
Advanced IT skills
Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
Friendly & down to earth personality with confident telephone manner
Excellent organisational skills

Competitive pay based on experience
