Full job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our new site, Harpwood House, TN15 7RY

The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and skills that we require to ensure the safety of our buildings and grounds by maintaining records and reporting any potential problems to the Registered Manager.

About Graham Care:

The Graham Care Group owns and operates nursing homes and care suites for over 500 residents in Surrey and Kent. The existing seven homes together with the group’s development sites provide the potential to develop places for over 1,500 residents within the next five years.

The business is family owned by Ernie & Dr Karen Graham, who founded it in 1996. Their aim is to provide “homes for life” for residents with on-going nursing care needs.

Skill requirements:

Knowledge and experience in basic skills of general maintenance
Must be able to drive

Responsibilities:

Maintaining the homes buildings and grounds to a safe and good standard of repair
Carry out routine repairs and monitoring on all systems and advise on problem areas to the Registered Manager
Record keeping – Fire alarms/logs, COSHH, emergency lighting etc
Ordering cleaning supplies for the home
Ensure all PAT is up to date
Metre readings
Repairing fixtures and fittings
On call duties – home emergencies

Pay:

The advertised rate of £15.00 per hour is our starting point, but for a well-qualified candidate we are prepared to pay considerably more. This role carries real responsibility: taking ownership of maintenance across our 100-bed home, auditing our statutory compliance systems (fire safety, water hygiene/Legionella, LOLER, gas, and electrical) and keeping the records fully up to date, as well as carrying out hands-on practical work. If you hold relevant qualifications and certifications in these areas, we will reflect that in your rate — so we'd strongly encourage you to apply and discuss your experience and pay expectations with us at interview.
