GICU is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunit y for highly motivated, friendly and enthusiastic nurses to join our expanding service. This post requires individuals to cover a full range of shifts (nights and days) and have flexibility to cover any day of the week.

The General Intensive Care Unit (GICU) at UHS is a 30 bedded facility caring for patients with diverse and complex i n juries and illnesses, delivering high - quality nursing care to those requiring level 3 and level 2 care.

As part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert care to critically ill patients and their families in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

The unit is committed to delivering excellent patient care while supporting staff development, education, and professional growth.

You will need to have:
NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
9 months post-qualification experience in Critical Care following completion of a recognised Critical Care qualification.
Evidence of supporting learners in practice experience.
Evidence of management experience
Clinical and Leadership Ability
Up to date experience of working in a Critical Care setting
Good interpersonal, communication skills

The successful candidate will be required to:
To take charge of the Unit on a regular basis in the absence of a senior nurse .

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care, providing support to other members of the multidisciplinary team.

To lead, motivate and supervise the professional work of nursing staff at Band 5 and below, exercising good leadership and control.
