R. Plevin & Sons Ltd have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Compliance Officer to join our busy team based in Crow Edge, (nr Penistone & Holmfirth) South Yorkshire S36 4HG. Working on a full time, permanent basis you will receive a competitive salary.

As an Environmental Compliance Officer you will provide technical support to the Company in line with environmental requirements, reporting obligations and other legislative requirements.
Your duties will include:
- Providing advice and guidance to ensure compliance on statutory legal requirements, company environmental permits and supporting regulatory guidance, assisting with ongoing improvement as required.
- Liaising with regulators and interested parties to process queries, notices and other correspondence in relation to the company's legal obligations.
- Producing accurate data, reports and management information to fulfil the company's environmental and other legal obligations.
- Assisting with the company insurance renewal process and attending insurance risk survey audits and providing support for reporting and processing insurance claims.
- Leading and developing a sustainability project to drive the company towards net zero.
- Overseeing the FSC certification system .
- Preparing and submitting EA returns, consignee returns and pollution inventory returns.
- Preparing and submitting various returns and information including Biomass Suppliers List quarterly returns, ENplus mass balance summaries, energy and water use, tonnages processed, WRA statistics, PRN reconciliations and other summaries.
- To carry out site risk walks and to support external audits.
Key skills, qualifications and experience needed to become our Environmental Compliance Officer:
- Degree in Environmental Science or Quality Management
- Quality Management experience
- WAMITAB qualification is desirable
- Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft office packages, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Business acumen – commercial awareness
- Open communication skills with all levels of personnel
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Be focussed on continuous improvement
- Able to work to tight deadlines
- Have meticulous attention to detail
Training and mentoring support will be available to the successful candidate.
Hours of Work:
37.5 hours per week
Monday – Friday : 09:00 -17:00 (half hour lunch)
