Our nursery offers children a distinctive start to life—where the classroom extends beyond four walls into fields, gardens, and woodlands. Rooted in the principles of outdoor learning, sustainability and farm-to-fork food principals, we provide an environment where curiosity, independence, and a love for nature are nurtured every day.
As an independent nursery, we pride ourselves on flexibility, creativity and a close-knit community feel.
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and fully qualified Early Years Nursery School Manager to lead a highly rated small, privately- owned, purpose-built nursery situated in a rural village in the heart of the Cotswolds. This is a rare opportunity for an inspiring individual to manage and grow an independent nursery where nature, outdoor learning, and food education are at the core of the curriculum.
We are looking for a full-time Nursery Manager who will:
- Lead and inspire a passionate team, ensuring the highest standards of care and education in line with the EYFS framework.
- Embrace and develop the nursery’s outdoor ethos, integrating farm life and food education into the curriculum.
- Manage all operational aspects, from compliance and safeguarding to parent engagement and staff development.
- Drive continuous improvement while maintaining the warm, personal touch of an independent setting.
We are looking for someone who can offer long-term consistency for the children and the team, and build a lasting relationship with the wider community.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be:
- Fully qualified with a minimum Level 3 in Early Years Education (or equivalent), although Level 5 or above is preferred.
- An experienced manager or deputy ready to step up, with a proven track record in leading early years settings.
- Passionate about outdoor learning, nature-based education, and the role of food and sustainability in child development.
- Independent, proactive, and confident in decision-making, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Committed to creating a nurturing environment where children thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
Additional Benefits
- The opportunity to shape and grow a unique nursery setting with strong community ties.
- A supportive environment that values innovation, well-being, and work-life balance.
- A property may be made available, offering the chance to live amidst the stunning Cotswold countryside.
Location
Situated in a picturesque Cotswold village, the nursery is surrounded by rolling hills, open skies, and a vibrant rural community—perfect for someone who appreciates the beauty and tranquillity of country living.
