Wayfair is seeking a Creative Lead for its UK team. This senior, head-of-function role owns creative vision, strategy, standards, workflows and daily output across copy, design and production.
You will set the UK creative bar while remaining hands-on with priority work. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, freelancers and partners, collaborating with marketing, merchandising, commercial, operations, insights, media, global creative teams and agencies to deliver distinctive, effective and commercially impactful work.
Moving between brand strategy and creative leadership, you will shape campaigns, review copy and design, write scripts, direct production, strengthen briefs, set testing agendas, manage feedback and ensure every asset is strategically sharp, beautifully executed and built to perform.
A priority is preparing the function for a major 2027 Brand Awareness push across media, production, creative strategy, team and budget planning, campaign development and operational readiness.
Own UK creative direction, quality and operating model across brand, performance, social, CRM, site, video, partnerships and production.
Turn business priorities, customer insights and marketing objectives into distinctive, effective and commercially grounded ideas.
As the UK’s senior creative voice, shape briefs and choices to keep work strategic, on-brand and performance-focused. Champion AI in workflows and ideation to improve efficiency and scale.
Lead copy, design and production with clear ownership, strong feedback rhythms and a high-performance culture.
Review work and direct concepts, copy, design, scripts, layouts, production plans and final assets.
Partner with Creative and Marketing Operations on prioritisation, sprints, resourcing and freelance or agency support.
Lead campaign ideas, messaging frameworks, visual direction, scripts, storyboards and channel-specific creative.
Strengthen briefs, especially for new initiatives, ensuring objectives, insights, assets and success measures.
Approve internal, freelance and partner work against the brief, channel requirements and Wayfair standards.
Lead productions from briefing and partner selection through shoot planning, on-set direction, post-production and approval.
Direct room look and feel, styling, talent, product selection, shot priorities and asset usage.
Balance ambition with budget, timing and operational realities, maintaining quality and strong cost-to-outcome judgement.
Set the annual testing agenda across messaging, formats, distinctive assets, visual treatments and channel executions.
Use research, customer feedback and performance results to improve work, refine feedback loops and share learning company-wide.
Link decisions to brand awareness, engagement, conversion, speed to market, efficiency and ROI.
Ensure marketing, media, merchandising, commercial, operations, partnerships and customer initiatives have the right creative support.
Collaborate with US and global creative teams to align workflows, share learning, scale assets and unlock efficiencies. Identify and adapt assets for transcreation while maintaining a high bar for British consumers.
For brand or agency-led campaigns, lead briefs, evaluate ideas, shape concepts and build cross-functional buy-in.
Significant leadership experience across agency and client-side or in-house settings, leading concept, copy, design and production teams.
A strong portfolio spanning brand campaigns, performance creative, social-first work, video, digital content or integrated marketing. Experience taking ideas from brief to delivery through concepting, scriptwriting, art direction, production oversight, post-production and approval. AI adoption and integration experience is a plus.
Experience leading high-volume workflows, ideally in retail, ecommerce, home, lifestyle, consumer brands, agencies, media or performance-led environments. Knowledge of paid and organic social, video, CRM, site, app, display, partnerships, promotions, brand campaigns and content; multinational experience is a plus.
Commercial fluency, linking creative choices to business goals, customer behaviour, awareness, conversion, efficiency and ROI. Strong stakeholder management, with confidence influencing senior leaders, challenging briefs, presenting rationale and aligning partners.
Comfort operating at pace amid multiple stakeholders, changing priorities and high volume, with a test-and-learn mindset and experience using insights, research or performance data to improve output.
Quality, consistency and distinctiveness across all UK creative channels.
Improved asset performance, testing velocity, learning adoption, conversion, engagement and brand metrics.
Campaigns and productions delivered on brief, on time and with strong cost-to-outcome judgement.
Stakeholder confidence in Creative as a strategic partner, not only an execution service.
Team health, development and retention across production, copy and design.
Effective use of internal, global, freelance and agency resources to scale without diluting quality.
The ideal candidate is a senior creative operator: strategic enough to define the function and hands-on enough to improve a script, challenge a layout, direct a shoot or sharpen an idea in the moment.
Commercially minded, creatively ambitious and collaborative, they will protect quality in a fast-moving retail business. They will balance data with instinct, taste and brand-building; build trust with senior stakeholders; create clarity for the team; and turn ambiguous needs into work customers notice, understand and act on.
They will bring high standards without ego, pace without chaos and ambition grounded in business impact.
