Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Crane Driver to operate various types of cranes within our construction and logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely manoeuvring materials and equipment, ensuring efficient handling and transportation on-site. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials handling, and construction site safety protocols. The ideal applicant will possess relevant experience in construction, warehouse operations, or shipping and receiving environments, with a focus on safe crane operation.
Responsibilities
- Operate different types of cranes, including mobile, tower, and overhead cranes, in accordance with safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Handle materials efficiently by loading, unloading, and positioning goods or equipment as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of crane machinery to identify potential faults or maintenance needs.
- Assist with the movement of heavy materials around construction sites or warehouses using appropriate lifting techniques.
- Ensure all operations comply with health and safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and crane usage as part of site documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate lifting activities and ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications
- Valid crane operator licence recognised by relevant authorities.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues with crane equipment.
- Experience in commercial driving, materials handling, or construction environments is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to crane operation and site work.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to handle demanding tasks such as lifting loads up to specified limits and working in various weather conditions.
