Job Role: Senior Scientist / Associate Principal Scientist Biophysics & Protein Science
Site: Edinburgh
Salary: £39,000 - £46,800

Concept Life Sciences is seeking a talented and experienced scientist to support the delivery of drug discovery projects within our Protein Science, Biophysics and Structural Biology department. This role is suited to either an established Senior Scientist or an emerging Associate Principal Scientist looking to take greater ownership of projects, own client interactions, and drive scientific excellence.

What you will be doing:

You will play a key role in delivering Biophysics and Protein Science projects, working both independently and collaboratively to generate highquality data and insights, supporting project goals and contributing to scientific decision-making.

You will lead small-to-medium client projects, ensuring delivery to quality, time, and budget whilst working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external clients.

Some travel may be required, including occasional visits to our Chapel-en-le-Frith site.

About you:

Strong hands-on experience across Biophysical techniques (e.g. SPR, GCI, ITC, DLS, DSF, SEC-MALS) and Protein Production across a breadth of targets in Drug Discovery.
Proven ability to work independently in a lab-based role and in making recommendations for capability development.
Experience leading scientific projects demonstrating good scientific judgement and problem-solving skills
with external clients / partners.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (ie. clients)
Experience mentoring, training, or supporting junior scientists is desirable
Relevant degree (PhD preferred or equivalent experience)
