Full job description

Do you want to make a difference and gain satisfaction from leading a team that will deliver excellent Customer Care which in turn will make every day count for the terminally ill and those with life limiting conditions.

We are looking for someone that has people at the heart of what they do, whether that be customers or the team they lead and motivate to drive sales and manage costs to maximise profit that will help shape the future for you and others. Do you have the passion and drive to manage one of our shops. We require a Manager to work at either of our shops located in Scotland.

This position can be available at either our Gorgie, Morningside or Newington store.

MAIN DUTIES to include:

To be the face of the charity, bringing it to life for the customers and team
To drive sales to maximise shop income and achieve sales targets
To manage online sales across our ecommerce platform predominantly, Ebay and Shopify. We also use WBB to help us bring in additional funds
To attract, recruit and develop volunteers so they can be the best they can be.
To lead, motivate and influence volunteers to deliver excellent customer service and store presentation standards.
To ensure that the shop is adequately staffed at all times and establish appropriate rotas for staff and volunteers.
To complete regular reports to Head Office on the performance of the shop and its staff.
To ensure that all appropriate standards of security and health and safety are met.
To ensure that the shop premises are clean and tidy at all times and that goods are displayed in an attractive and presentable manner.
To act as keyholder; to open and close the shop for agreed trading hours and ensure that the premises are secure on leaving.
To respond to emergency call out if and when necessary.
To ensure that all company administrative and financial procedures are followed including banking, cash register reconciliation, weekly returns and volunteer records.
To ensure that staff and volunteers are aware of and comply with company policies.
Some flexibility in the working hours will be required from time to time and the postholder may be required to provide cover at other shops. The postholder will be expected to travel for training purposes.
Any other duties which are consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the post.

This position is for 4/5 days a week including at least 50% of weekends.
