Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Vehicle Bodybuilder and Repairer to join our team. This role involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining commercial vehicle bodies, ensuring they meet safety standards and client specifications. The role will include working on Drop side bodies, Curtain side bodies, Luton and box bodies.
This is a hands-on job that requires skills and experience with hand tools, power tools, Mig welding with mechanical vehicle knowledge.
The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a reputable organisation committed to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Constructing new vehicle bodies according to design specifications using various materials.
- Repairing and refurbishing existing vehicle bodies, including patching & welding.
- Installing specialised equipment and accessories on commercial vehicles as required.
- Conducting inspections to ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Diagnosing faults in vehicle bodies and implementing effective repair solutions.
- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborating with other team members to complete projects within specified timeframes.
Experience
- Proven experience in vehicle bodybuilding or repair work, ideally within the commercial vehicle sector.
- Skilled in welding, fabrication, and the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to vehicle bodywork.
- Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics is advantageous.
- Familiarity with different materials used in vehicle body construction is desirable.
- A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in vehicle bodybuilding or a related field is preferred but not essential for highly experienced candidates.
