Full job description

Treetops is a 22-bed inpatient unit specialising primarily in elective orthopaedics, with additional services in urology, breast care, and plastics. The unit comprises 14 side rooms and 2 bays, operating seven days a week, with procedures offered Monday to Saturday.

Our dedicated team is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centred care, ensuring the best possible outcomes and experiences for every patient. We also focus on professional development and clinical excellence, fostering a supportive and collaborative working environment.

There are two positions available, each offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity for internal candidates (subject to line manager approval).

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the team under the direction of the NIC.

To be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of nursing services in the department in the absence of senior staff on a regular basis.

To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.

To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which.

Engages, enables, and empowers others.

Uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

To be accountable as a prominent role model, leading by example, demonstrating diverse expert clinical skills, clear professional and organisational values while overseeing the department.

Taking responsibility for the planning, practice and evaluation of nursing care ensuring that the highest standard and quality of nursing care is delivered.

To work with the clinical nurse specialists and wider MDT in developing and providing specialised nursing care programmes to a diverse range of patients and to ensure support to carers.
