Full job description

Building a sustainable tomorrow

KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland - BAM UK & Ireland's infrastructure segment is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Commercial Administrator.

Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required – a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Making Possible

As a Commercial Administrator, you'll be working within the Devonport Dock team, supporting them by liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors.

Your day to day will include:

Assist with the processing and verification of supply chain payments, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and timelines.
Prepare and post cost journals, including cost reallocations and cost allocations across project work packages.
Support the timesheet journalling process, ensuring accurate labour cost capture and allocation.
Maintain and update commercial records, trackers, and reports to support project cost control and forecasting.
Liaise with internal departments (finance, procurement, site teams) and external suppliers to resolve queries and ensure smooth commercial operations.
Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports and commercial submissions.
Support the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyors with ad hoc administrative and analytical tasks.

Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment
You possess strong organisational and IT skills

Desirable:

Enrolled on to commercial related academic qualification
