Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Kindergarten Teacher to oversee and deliver high-quality early childhood education within our vibrant nursery setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that promotes learning, development, and wellbeing for young children. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of educators, implement engaging curricula, and foster positive relationships with children and their families. A strong background in childcare, early childhood education, and management is essential to ensure the delivery of exceptional educational experiences.

Duties

Lead and supervise a team of nursery staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure effective teamwork and high standards of care.
Plan, develop, and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that stimulate children's development across all areas including social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.
Monitor and assess children's progress regularly, maintaining detailed records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication regarding children's progress and well-being.
Organise daily activities, outings, and special events that enhance learning experiences and promote community engagement.
Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, organised, and conducive to learning at all times.
Manage administrative tasks such as attendance records, lesson planning documentation, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Promote inclusive practices that respect diversity and encourage positive behaviour among children.
Maintain current knowledge of early childhood education best practices through ongoing professional development.

Skills

Proven management and leadership abilities within an early childhood or childcare setting.
Extensive experience working with children in nursery or preschool environments.
Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education frameworks.
Excellent communication skills in English to effectively liaise with children, parents, staff, and external agencies.
Organisational skills with the ability to plan effectively and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., Level 3 Childcare Qualification or higher).
Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach towards young children.
Valid driving licence is desirable for organising outings or home visits when necessary.
