Designer

Company Overview

A leading Aluminium window and door company based in Pinxton is seeking an experienced Glazing or Façade Designer to join its in-house design team. The company operates across the United Kingdom, delivering high-quality services and projects.

The company designs, supplies, and installs a wide range of architectural glazing systems including curtain walling, commercial doors and windows. With a proven track record in the commercial, retail, and domestic sectors.

Role Summary

As a Façade Designer, you will play a key role in the design development and coordination of curtain walling and architectural glazing systems within the building envelope. Working closely with internal teams, clients, and main contractors, you will help deliver high-quality, buildable design solutions for a range of complex glazing or façade packages.

Key Responsibilities

Design

Create precise 2D and 3D CAD drawings for commercial glazing systems including architectural and envelope subcontractors interface details.
Produce fabrication-ready drawings with defined dimensions, tolerances, and specifications
Ensure all designs comply with architectural drawing specifications, structural information, and relevant regulations

Technical Coordination

Liaise with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to interpret design intent and provide cost effective solutions in with budget constraints.
Coordinate with production and installation teams to ensure accuracy and buildability
Integrate site measurements and as-built conditions into revised designs to include in O&M pack.

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience in glazing, curtain walling, or façade design.
Essential to be proficient in AutoCAD
Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and glazing / façade performance standards.
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills.
Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable

Experience with 3D modelling software is advantageous.
On site surveying experience would be advantageous however is not essential.
