We are hiring a Business Analyst to join our Investment Operations team. This is a newly created role focused on improving how the function operates across business management, data and technology.
Reporting to the Head of Implementation, you will operate as an individual contributor, partnering closely with Data and Technology teams to improve processes, reporting and systems. The focus is on operational effectiveness, strengthening controls, and enabling better decision making through clear data and structure.
This role suits someone from a financial services or wealth management background who understands investment operations and wants to drive improvement at scale rather than manage people.
Business management and operational oversight
- Run the Investment Operations business cadence, including priorities, actions, reporting and delivery tracking
- Own weekly and monthly MI packs covering volumes, capacity, service levels, incidents and change delivery
- Maintain procedures, controls documentation and audit evidence
- Own day-to-day oversight of third-party data vendors
- Coordinate governance forums, issue tracking and stakeholder updates
- Support business continuity planning and operational risk management
Data and analytics enablement
- Partner with Data teams to define requirements and improve data quality
- Improve how data is captured, structured and used across the function
- Support delivery and adoption of dashboards and reporting (e.g. Power BI)
- Maintain data governance standards aligned to regulatory expectations
Technology optimisation and change delivery
- Identify inefficiencies across systems and workflows and drive improvements
- Translate operational issues into clear requirements for Technology teams
- Support system changes, including testing and implementation
- Act as a key user for Investment Operations systems, improving adoption and outcomes
Investment operations support
- Improve operational processes, workflows and exception handling
- Strengthen controls and reduce operational risk
- Support onboarding of new initiatives and change readiness
- Act as the link between day-to-day operations and strategic change
Stakeholder management
- Work across Investment Operations, Data and Technology teams
- Provide clear updates to senior stakeholders
- Build strong working relationships across Operations, Risk and the wider business

Experience in business management, operations or change within financial services
- Exposure to investment, platform or wealth operations
- Experience working with data, MI reporting and operational metrics
- Track record of improving processes and supporting system or workflow change
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Ability to simplify complex operational and data issues
- High attention to detail within controlled environments
- Confident stakeholder management and communication
- Analytical mindset with a focus on outcomes
Desirable
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI
- Understanding of data quality and governance principles
- Experience supporting system change, testing or workflow optimisation
You'll be based at the Benchmark Head Office, within our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex but will need to be present across our other offices, including the main Schroders headquarters in London. It has high standards and international reputation, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different.
