Full job description

Artifex Homes is a Hertfordshire-based residential construction and renovation company, recently recognised as Best Builder at the Hertfordshire Building Control Awards 2026. We take pride in our craftsmanship, our client relationships, and the standard of work we deliver across every project.

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable bricklayer to join our team on residential projects across Hertfordshire.

What you’ll be doing

Brickwork on residential extensions, new builds, and refurbishments
Blockwork, cavity walls, and feature brickwork
Groundwork
Working closely with our project managers to maintain programme and quality standards
Keeping your work area safe, tidy, and compliant with site rules
Driving the digger

What we’re looking for

Bricklaying experience in residential construction
Groundwork knowledge and experience
Being able to drive a digger is essential
Reliable, punctual, and a good communicator
Own tools and transport

Our work is based in Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas. We work all over Hertfordshire.

This is a self employed position and pay will depend on experience.

Pay: £180.00-£230.00 per day

Experience:

Bricklaying: 3 years (required)
Digger Driving: 1 year (required)

Location:

Welwyn Garden City AL7 1HL (required)

Work Location: On the road
