The successful applicant will join our team of Clinical Pharmacists rotating through sub-specialties such as Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Transplantation, Cardiothoracic Critical Care, Bronchiectasis, Interstitial Lung Disease, Acute Respiratory Care Unit and Sleep Centre. As a Rotational Pharmacist at a Specialist Centre, you will have the opportunity to gain invaluable peer support from some of the UK's most experienced Highly Specialist Pharmacists in areas such as Pulmonary Hypertension, Cystic Fibrosis and Transplantation; leaders in their field who have presented at international conferences and taught on undergraduate and postgraduate courses. With appropriate training, you will be asked to deputise for them in their absence to maintain provision of a safe and effective Clinical Pharmacy service.
As a Senior Rotational Pharmacist you will work as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team providing care to a variety of cardiothoracic patient groups across inpatient and outpatient areas. You will work closely with the directorate Lead Pharmacist to provide expert level clinical pharmacy services whilst building your skills undertaking innovation, teaching, supervision and active independent prescribing where qualified to do so. Supported by an experienced Pharmacist you will work across boundaries as the Trust link Pharmacist for a clinical specialty outside of cardiothoracic medicine. Participation in the Surgical Pre-Admission Clinic will expose you to opportunities to develop your confidence as an independent clinical practitioner as well as providing experience in managing a Pharmacist-led clinic.
Outside of clinical duties you will participate in directorate and departmental service improvement as well as local and national medicines optimisation initiatives and will be a key part of the Rotational Pharmacist Forum, feeding into the departmental operations and decision making.

Previous experience working in a hospital pharmacy environment
Experience of good foundation in clinical pharmacy practice and providing pharmaceutical service to a specialty
Good verbal and written communication skills
