Cymru Kitchens is looking for an experienced, motivated and skilled Lead Installer & Cabinet Maker to lead the cabinet making, joinery and installation of our bespoke kitchen and furniture projects. About the Role
You will be responsible for project delivery from initial survey through to final install and after-care, working with and leading your Installer and Cabinet Maker colleague. You'll organise the team's daily work, mentor and develop team members, and ensure every project is completed to the highest standard, on time, and with outstanding customer service. You'll work closely with our Operations, Design, and Paintshop teams to keep projects running smoothly from start to finish.
What makes this role stand out is the variety: you'll be hands-on in the workshop crafting bespoke pieces, then into customers' homes to see that same work fitted and brought to life, a combination that keeps the work varied and rewarding. Because you both make and install every project, you carry full ownership of its delivery, with the continuity of one team throughout rather than a handover between separate manufacturing and installation teams. Team size typically flexes to a team of three, or independent working, depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead accurate project surveys, acting as the customer's first point of contact as you take handover of the project and specification from the Designer
- Complete post-survey production paperwork and specifications, ready for manufacturing
- Deliver high-quality bespoke cabinet making, joinery and installation, both personally and across the team
- Manage the team's schedule alongside the Operations Director so key milestones are met and projects run efficiently
- Supply completed items to the Paintshop in optimum condition
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience, keeping customers updated throughout their project, confirming any agreed changes in writing, and proactively resolving any issues at customers' homes
- Liaise closely with the Operations Director, Managing Director, Designer, and Paintshop, delegating responsibly and developing your team
- Uphold Health & Safety standards and maintain a clean, well-organised workshop
What We're Looking For
- An open mind, a strong work ethic, transparency, and a genuine appetite for learning, even highly experienced joiners will need to adapt to our CK way of working
- Advanced bench joinery, carpentry and cabinet-making skills
- Significant experience in kitchen fitting and joinery, including experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a team
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Robust Health & Safety knowledge and best-practice knowledge of machinery and tools
- Full, valid UK driving licence, own tools, and fluent English (forklift licence a bonus, not essential)
