As the leading airline at London City, we fly into a variety of destinations throughout Europe and the UK. The minimum criteria to apply are:
- Currently operating as a Captain is desirable.
- Current UK CAA Part-FCL licence ATPL (A) or ability to convert to a UK licence using CAA EASA transfer process route 5 or 6 (link below)
- A current type rating with a minimum of 4000 hours total hours to include 1500 hours as PIC of a commercial jet/turbo prop multi crew aircraft. The 1500 hours PIC must be on an aircraft MTOW 20,000kg or greater and will not include any PICUS hours.
- A current UK issued ATPL (A).
- ICAO English language proficiency level 6
- Valid ME Instrument rating
- Valid Class 1 Medical (valid for 6 months after date of joining)
- E-Jet type rating desirable but not essential

- Candidates who were not successful at initial screening, video interview, capacity testing or assessment centre stage can now reapply for the pilot recruitment campaign after 6 months from their most recent assessment date. This change is due to the updated assessment process. Candidates who were not successful at the SIM stage must wait 12 months before reapplying for the pilot recruitment campaign.
- You may only apply to one airline within the British Airways family (British Airways, Euroflyer, or Cityflyer) at a time. If you are unsuccessful in one campaign, you will be unable to reapply to any of the three airlines within the British Airways family until the specified re-apply period has elapsed.
