Full job description

As a Clinical Support Worker at the Hawthorn Recovery Unit, you will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting service users to engage in meaningful activity that promotes recovery, independence and wellbeing. You will work closely with care coordinators, therapists, nurses and the Team Leader to provide high‑quality, person‑centred support within a safe and therapeutic environment.

You will plan, facilitate and co‑deliver a range of individual and group activities, thoughtfully graded to meet the abilities, interests and needs of each service user, with the aim of encouraging participation, confidence and functional skills. The role also involves supporting day‑to‑day clinical care, effective communication within the team, and contributing to the smooth and safe running of the unit.

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who is motivated, compassionate and committed to supporting older adults in their recovery journey

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

Plan, facilitate and deliver individual and group activities, graded to meet service users’ abilities and needs

Adapt activities to support participation for service users with physical, sensory, cognitive, emotional or communication difficulties

Work in line with individual risk management plans when planning and delivering interventions

Engage with service users, carers and family members in a respectful, supportive and welcoming manner, including orientation to the unit

Support service users with mobility, personal care and daily needs when required

Undertake delegated physical health monitoring tasks as directed by care coordinators or the Team Leader

Maintain effective communication with service users and families, including telephone contact, triage calls and appointment reminders

Accurately record observations, interventions and clinical progress notes

Relay relevant information promptly and clearly to care coordinators and the wider MDT

Support the smooth running of the unit, including assisting with meals and acting as a link with inpatient wards to welcome new referrals
