Abyss Scuba School is seeking a professional and enthusiastic PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) to join our growing team.
This is a permanent part-time position with fixed weekly hours and opportunities for additional overtime through weekend courses and events.
Working Hours Fixed Hours:
Wednesday: 09:00 – 17:00
Thursday: 12:00 – 20:00
Additional Overtime: Weekend scuba diving courses and events as required Weekend work is shared fairly amongst the instructional team Typically averaging approximately one weekend course per month
Responsibilities:
Deliver PADI scuba diving courses and experiences Conduct pool and open water training sessions
Support Discover Scuba Diving experiences
Assist customers within the dive centre retail shop
Support youth activities and educational programmes
Maintain high standards of customer service and safety
Assist with equipment preparation and general dive centre operations
Essential Requirements Current PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) rating or higher
Current teaching status & Annual HSE medical
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Professional and reliable approach to work
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Requirements:
Experience working with children and young people
Experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Additional PADI Specialty Instructor ratings
Retail or sales experience
Full UK driving licence
