Job Description
Our General Manager Crime Fraud is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Crime and Fraud Manager to join our National Security Team. Operating across the North of the UK, this critical role is dedicated to protecting our network, our people, and our customers. You will lead the response to high-level threats, managing a diverse and complex caseload that spans serious external crime, internal misconduct, sophisticated fraud, and immigration compliance. As a subject matter expert, you will act as the primary bridge between DPD, law enforcement agencies, and our key strategic customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Serious External Crime: Lead and manage comprehensive investigations into serious and organised criminal activity targeting the DPD network, supply chain, and assets.
- Internal Investigations: Conduct sensitive internal investigations, including the handling of Whistleblowing (WB) disclosures, ensuring absolute confidentiality, objectivity, and compliance with corporate policy.
- Complex Fraud: Investigate sophisticated frauds impacting the business. Identify vulnerabilities, recover losses where possible, and recommend robust preventative measures.
- Immigration Compliance: Manage and investigate matters related to immigration and right-to-work compliance across the network
- Evidential Case Management: Manage a complex caseload. Build and prepare robust, high-quality evidential packages and prosecution files suitable for formal handover to law enforcement and judicial proceedings.
- Stakeholder & Agency Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external authorities. Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional Police forces, the Home Office, and other regulatory bodies.
- Customer Engagement: Liaise directly with key strategic customers regarding high-profile security, crime, or fraud matters that impact their business with DPD, providing expert advice and reassurance.
Qualifications
About You
- Experience: A proven track record of managing complex, high-level investigations. A background in law enforcement (e.g., Police, NCA, Home Office) or senior corporate security/fraud investigation is highly desirable.
- Legal Knowledge: Excellent working knowledge of UK criminal and civil law, specifically relating to fraud, theft, immigration, and data protection (e.g., PACE, Fraud Act 2006, Theft Act 1968, GDPR).
- Investigative Skills: Demonstrable experience in building evidential packages, taking statements, conducting investigative interviews, and presenting evidence in court.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex investigative findings clearly to both internal leadership and external agencies.
- Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the credibility to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders, senior management, and high-value customers.
- Integrity: High ethical standards, with extensive experience handling sensitive, confidential, and Whistleblowing information.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel across your designated region (North or South UK) as required by active investigations.
