Job Description: Overview — We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Coachworker / Bodyshop Technician / Vehicle Sprayer to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will possess strong panel and refinishing knowledge and a passion for high-quality vehicle bodywork and paint repair. The candidate needs to be highly experienced in assessing collision damage, carrying out complex panel and structural repairs, and delivering a flawless paint finish.
Work week is Monday–Saturday. Over-time is available.
Duties
- Carry out comprehensive accident damage assessments and structural repairs on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models
- Perform panel beating, welding, filling, sanding, and alignment to manufacturer specifications
- Prepare vehicles for paint, including masking, priming, and base/clear coat application using spray equipment
- Colour match and blend paint accurately to achieve a factory-standard finish
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and refinishing equipment efficiently to carry out repairs with precision
- Identify hidden or structural damage using measuring systems, jigs, and manual inspection
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out in accordance with company and insurer standards
- Assist junior technicians and apprentices by providing guidance and sharing technical expertise
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations, COSHH, and manufacturer specifications
- Keep the workshop, prep bay, and spray booth clean, organised, and safe at all times
Experience
- Proven experience as a Coachworker, Bodyshop Technician, or Vehicle Sprayer, preferably at a senior level
- Strong knowledge of vehicle bodywork, structural alignment, welding (MIG, MAG, spot), and paint refinishing systems
- Skilled in operating spray guns, panel beating tools, and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex collision and structural damage accurately and efficiently
- Previous experience working with modern refinishing systems and water-based paints is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and finish quality
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced bodyshop environment
