Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer with a strong background in structural steelwork to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings, fabrication details, and 3D models for a range of steelwork projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented designer who has experience working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to deliver high-quality steelwork solutions.

Salary: will be agreed on based on experience.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings using software such as AutoCAD, Tekla.
Create accurate schematics, plans, elevations and sections documentation in line with project specifications.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to interpret design concepts and translate them into precise CAD drawings.
Ensure all designs adhere to relevant industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation supporting project development phases.
Maintain organised digital files of all drawings and related documents for easy access and version control.

Experience

Proven experience in CAD design and strong understanding of structural steelwork detailing and fabrication processes.
Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software including AutoCAD and/or Tekla
Strong understanding of construction processes and technical drawing standards.
Knowledge of connection detailing and steel fabrication standards.
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans accurately.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. This role provides an engaging environment for professionals passionate about design technology and construction innovation. The successful candidate will be integral to delivering high-quality projects that meet both client expectations and industry standards.

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
