Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Apprentice Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in pharmacy operations and patient care within a supportive environment. The successful candidate will work closely with qualified pharmacy staff to develop essential skills and knowledge in medication management and customer service. Prior experience in pharmacy or healthcare settings is advantageous but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided. This role is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy or healthcare, offering valuable hands-on experience and professional development opportunities.

Duties

Assist with the preparation and organisation of medications under supervision, ensuring accuracy and safety.
Support pharmacy staff with dispensing prescriptions and managing medication stock levels.
Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients, answering queries and offering guidance where appropriate.
Help with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining patient records in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
Support medication administration processes, including verifying prescriptions and ensuring correct labelling.
Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and safe pharmacy environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.

Experience

Previous experience in a pharmacy technician role or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for all new hires.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures is beneficial.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are required to ensure accuracy in medication handling and record keeping.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.
A genuine interest in patient care and the healthcare industry is essential for success in this role.
Ability to work well within a team environment, demonstrating professionalism and a proactive attitude throughout training and daily tasks.
