Tool Change Setter/Fitter

The Role: Tool Change Setter/Fitter (Injection & Blow Moulding)

Hours of Work: 10am – 6pm Monday to Friday

The Role/Key Responsibilities:

Mergon UK are looking for a Tool Change Setter & Fitter to join our team in Blackburn. The role will involve:

Carrying out tool changes on blow and injection moulding machines in line with setting sheets and defined target times
Preparing all secondary equipment required for production and ensuring correct operation
Completing all tool change paperwork accurately and on time
Identifying and reporting defects with mould tools, dyes, secondary equipment or machinery
Supporting basic equipment maintenance (e.g. granulators and power packs) when required
Returning tools and dyes to the toolroom and maintaining excellent housekeeping and safety standards

To be successful in this role, you will likely have:

FLT driving qualification
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience completing tool and dye changes on injection and blow moulding machines, with the ability to follow structured setting documentation
The ability to work under pressure to meet time targets and be able to adapt quickly to unplanned priorities
Lifting and slinging experience
A proactive approach to problem solving, health and safety, and continuous improvement
Good verbal and written communication skills
A willingness to undertake any necessary training to fulfil the duties of the role

KPI’s/Success within the first year:

Achieve and improve on all standard tool change target times without compromising safety
Contribute to reduced changeover times and increased machine uptime
All tool change paperwork completed accurately
Demonstrate good understanding of all moulding machines and associated equipment
Be confident supporting the Engineering team with basic maintenance
