IT & Technology Trainer
Location: Exeter, with travel across the South West
Salary: Up to £45k
Contract: Permanent, full-time
We’re working with an established and highly regarded organisation in the South West that is looking to appoint an IT & Technology Trainer to join its IT team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology, training and digital adoption. You’ll play a key role in helping colleagues use technology confidently and effectively, while contributing to the organisation’s wider digital transformation, AI adoption and future technology projects.
The position will be based Exeter, with regular travel between offices across Devon, Cornwall and the surrounding South West. A full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle are therefore essential.
The Role
Working closely with the IT team and wider business, you’ll design and deliver engaging technology training for colleagues with a wide range of roles, responsibilities and levels of technical confidence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and delivering structured technology training through classroom sessions, remote workshops and one-to-one coaching.
- Delivering training across Microsoft 365, particularly Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Creating accessible user guides, videos, quick-reference materials and other learning resources.
- Supporting the rollout and adoption of new systems, digital tools and technology-led change.
- Helping colleagues use AI and emerging technologies confidently, safely and effectively within a business environment.
- Delivering cybersecurity best-practice and phishing-awareness training.
- Working with colleagues across different departments and levels of seniority to identify skills gaps and training requirements.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of training and adapting content in response to feedback and business needs.
- Working closely with the IT team to ensure new technology is successfully adopted and embedded across the organisation.
- Contributing to wider digital transformation and technology projects.
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technology knowledge with the ability to engage, coach and support non-technical users.
You should have:
- Previous experience designing and delivering technology or IT training.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience training people with varying levels of technical confidence and adapting your approach to different learning styles.
- The ability to explain technical concepts clearly, simply and without unnecessary jargon.
- Experience creating engaging training materials and user documentation.
- An understanding of digital transformation, technology adoption or change management.
- An understanding of AI and its safe, practical application within a business environment.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practice and experience delivering, or contributing to, security-awareness training.
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A friendly, patient and approachable manner, supported by strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- A proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for technology and continuous learning.
Experience within a law firm or professional services environment would be advantageous but isn’t essential. Exposure to practice management systems, legal technology platforms or other specialist business software would also be beneficial.
Microsoft certifications or recognised technology, training or teaching qualifications would be desirable.
Additional Requirements
Due to the multi-site nature of the position, you’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle, with the flexibility to travel regularly between offices across the South West.
There may occasionally be a requirement to work outside normal office hours to support training sessions, system rollouts or wider technology projects.
