L.J Fox Haulage Ltd is a growing haulage and logistics company based in the Scottish Borders. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and trustworthy Drivers Mate to join our team on a zero-hours, work-when-required basis.
As a newly established business, we need someone we can depend on. Workloads will vary and shifts will be offered as and when required, so we’re looking for someone who is flexible, committed and willing to support the business as it grows.
This role would suit someone looking for flexible work who takes pride in being punctual, dependable and representing the company professionally.
Responsibilities
- Assist the driver with the safe and efficient collection and delivery of goods.
- Help load and unload vehicles, including handling heavy or fragile items where required.
- Support route navigation and ensure deliveries are completed on time.
- Assist with basic vehicle checks and report any issues immediately.
- Ensure loads are secured safely and all safety procedures are followed.
- Communicate professionally with customers and represent the company positively at all times.
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately.
- Assist with general yard, warehouse and operational duties when required.
- Be available to work flexibly as business demands change.

- Is physically fit and comfortable with lifting, carrying and working outdoors.
- Has good communication skills.
- Previous experience in delivery, warehouse, logistics or transport is beneficial, but not essential.
- No driving licence is required.

Important Information
As L.J Fox Haulage Ltd is a new and growing business, there is currently no guarantee of regular hours. Work will be offered depending on customer demand and operational requirements.
We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with the business and understands that being reliable, turning up on time and having a strong work ethic are essential qualities for this role.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
