Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated male Care Worker to provide high-quality live-in support and assistance to a young man with support requirements within his own home . The ideal candidate will have experience in personal care at home especially experienced in using a hoist and being able to drive a wheelchair adapted vehicle. The Care Worker will be responsible for ensuring the comfort and well-being of the client while promoting their independence and dignity. The live-in rota is 1 week on and 1 week off.

Duties

Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to enhance their quality of life.
Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Conduct regular assessments of client needs and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Facilitate mobility assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary, to help clients move safely within their homes or facilities.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams.

Skills

Knowledge of patient care techniques, particularly in senior care and dementia care.
Proficiency in first aid and emergency response procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
Experienced in complex care including, PEG, Storma, Suction, Cough Assist.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team while also being self-motivated.
Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
A caring attitude towards individuals requiring support, demonstrating empathy and patience at all times. This role is vital in enhancing the lives of those we serve, making it both rewarding and impactful for the right candidate.

Pay: £980.00 per week
