Are you a recent Software Engineering or Computer Science graduate looking to kick-start your career in a cutting-edge engineering environment?

At Kraken, we're looking for a Graduate Software Engineer to join our growing team in Hampshire. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to the development of mission-critical software systems while gaining hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will:

Support the design, development and maintenance of software solutions
Write clean, efficient and maintainable code
Assist with software testing, debugging and fault finding
Support software integration with hardware and engineering systems
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
Create and maintain technical documentation
Contribute to system validation and verification activities
Learn and apply software engineering best practices
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the team

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
Understanding of software development principles and programming concepts
Experience with at least one programming language such as C, C++, Python or Java
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Eagerness to learn and develop professionally

Desirable

Exposure to embedded software development
Experience using Git or other version control systems
Familiarity with Linux
Experience gained through university projects, placements or internships
Interest in software that interfaces with hardware or real-time systems
