Job Overview

CHARTER FISHING BOAT LOOKING FOR A SKIPPER TO TAKE PEOPLE OUT FISHING

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Skipper to oversee the safe and efficient operation of vessels. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of maritime safety protocols, and a passion for navigation. This role involves managing crew, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, and maintaining vessel operations to the highest standards. The Skipper will play a vital part in delivering exceptional service while prioritising safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Command and navigate the vessel safely across designated routes, adhering to all maritime laws and safety standards.
Lead, supervise,
Conduct pre-departure checks on the vessel’s equipment, safety gear, and navigation systems.
Plan voyage routes considering weather conditions, tides, and other environmental factors.
Maintain detailed logs of voyages, incidents, and maintenance activities.
Coordinate with port authorities, cargo handlers, and other relevant personnel to facilitate smooth operations.
Respond promptly to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances at sea or port.
Ensure compliance with all maritime safety regulations and company policies.

Experience

Proven experience as a Skipper or in a similar maritime leadership role.
Strong knowledge of navigation, seamanship, and vessel handling techniques.
Familiarity with maritime safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Valid certification as a Skipper or Master Mariner recognised by relevant maritime authorities is essential.
