About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the University of Oxford as an Apprentice Events, Communications and Administration Assistant at the department Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics

As an Apprentice Events, Communications and Administration Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics. You will gain hands-on experience across administration, events and communications, helping to organise departmental events, create and update communications, provide administrative support, and welcome visitors. Working closely with the administrative team, Communications Officer and other Professional Services colleagues, you will support a wide range of staff, students and visitors in a busy, professional and collaborative university environment. Alongside your practical experience, you will complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, developing the skills and knowledge needed for a career in university administration

About the apprenticeship

As part of this role, you will undertake an Apprenticeship with Abingdon and Witney College, where you will complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship qualification.

For this apprenticeship, you will work at the Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics department in Parks Road, Oxford. As part of your apprenticeship, you will be required to attend Abington and Witney College. During your apprenticeship, you will need to attend Abington and Witney College one day a week.

In total, it will take 18-24 months to complete all elements of the apprenticeship, with support from the Department, University, and Training Provider throughout.

About you

You will be passionate about starting your career in Events and Communication and excited about the opportunity of becoming an apprentice at the University of Oxford. You may be starting your career or you may be looking for a career change.

To complete the level 3 apprenticeship you will need to evidence passes at 9-4 or A*-C in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent. Regardless of your prior qualifications Abingdon and Witney College will require you to complete a short initial assessment during the application process. There are also government residency requirements for Apprenticeship funding which the Training Provider will be able to advise on.
