Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dance Teacher Assistant to support our dance instructors and enhance the learning experience for our students. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about dance, education, and working with diverse groups, including children and individuals with special needs. The role involves assisting with lesson delivery, providing personalised support, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all participants.
Responsibilities
- Assist dance teachers during classes by supporting students with their movements and techniques
- Provide individualised attention to students requiring additional help, including those with disabilities or special needs
- Support students with autism or other behavioural challenges to ensure a safe and encouraging learning environment
- Help organise class activities, materials, and equipment to facilitate smooth lesson delivery
- Foster a supportive atmosphere by mentoring and encouraging students of all ages and abilities
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure clear understanding of lesson objectives and progress
- Maintain a safe and clean studio environment in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational or extracurricular settings
- Knowledge of special education principles and experience supporting individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents
- Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring roles related to dance or other educational activities is advantageous
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting diverse learners
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Flexibility to adapt to different student needs and lesson plans
