Full job description

Private Client Secretary / Audio Typist – Private Client Department

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Private Client Secretary / Audio Typist to join our busy Private Client team at a well-established solicitors’ firm.

This is a secretarial and administrative support role, providing essential assistance to solicitors and the wider Private Client team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing documents, managing correspondence, maintaining client files, and assisting with the day-to-day administration of client matters.

The role would suit someone who is organised, detail-focused, and enjoys providing high-quality support within a professional legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Typing and preparing accurate letters and legal documents within set timescales.
Formatting, proofreading, and checking documents for accuracy before issue.
Ensuring all correspondence and documents are saved and filed both electronically and in paper format on client files.
Providing general administrative and secretarial support to solicitors and the wider Private Client team.
Handling incoming calls from clients and third parties in a professional and helpful manner.
Assisting with general office and departmental administration as required.

What we’re looking for:

Strong IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work.
Good typing skills and confidence with audio typing.
Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
A professional, friendly approach when dealing with clients.
An organised and proactive approach with the ability to manage administrative tasks effectively.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but not essential – training will be provided for the right candidate.
Previous experience in a legal secretarial, administrative, or support role would be advantageous.

This role offers the opportunity to develop experience within a legal environment while working as part of a supportive and established Private Client team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £24,500.00 per year
