Upholsterer – Medical Couch Manufacturing

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Upholsterer to join our manufacturing team, producing high-quality upholstered medical couches and treatment furniture.
The successful candidate will have good attention to detail, take pride in their workmanship, and be comfortable working with a range of upholstery materials and hand and power tools. Experience in medical, healthcare, furniture, or commercial upholstery would be an advantage, but we are also willing to consider candidates with strong transferable upholstery skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Upholster medical couches and treatment tables to a high standard.
- Cut, shape and fit foam, vinyl, fabrics and other upholstery materials.
- Measure materials accurately and follow manufacturing drawings or specifications.
- Use upholstery tools, sewing equipment and workshop machinery safely and effectively.
- Ensure finished products meet the company's quality and appearance standards.
- Inspect completed work and identify any defects or areas requiring adjustment.
- Carry out repairs, re-upholstery and modifications where required.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow company procedures relating to quality, health and safety, and manufacturing.
- Work closely with other members of the production team to ensure orders are completed on time.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Previous upholstery or similar hands-on manufacturing experience.
- Good practical and manual skills.
- Ability to work accurately from measurements, drawings and instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of finished work.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience upholstering medical, dental, beauty or treatment couches.
- Experience working with vinyl, faux leather or other contract-grade materials.
- Sewing experience.
- Experience working with foam and specialist upholstery materials.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
