Job Description
As a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Band 7), you will deliver specialist assessments and interventions for neurodiverse children and young people aged 2 to 25 years across educational, community, home and clinic settings. Based around Crondall, Hampshire, you will work within an established specialist paediatric Occupational Therapy service, helping children and young people improve independence, participation and functional outcomes. The caseload includes autism, sensory processing difficulties, learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental conditions, specific learning difficulties and Special Educational Needs (SEN). Referrals come from NHS services, schools, paediatricians, solicitors, charities and private sources, providing varied work across allied health, private healthcare and private education settings within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive paediatric Occupational Therapy assessments
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans and therapeutic interventions
- Support neurodiverse children and young people aged 2 to 25 years across different environments
- Complete EHCP assessments, recommendations and associated professional reports
- Deliver Occupational Therapy interventions across school, home, clinic and community settings
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, records and outcome reporting
- Work collaboratively with families, schools and multidisciplinary professionals
- Provide specialist Occupational Therapy advice and recommendations to those supporting each child or young person
- Contribute to tribunal reports and professional evidence where required
- Maintain HCPC standards, safeguarding responsibilities and clinical governance requirements
Essential Requirements
- You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
- BSc Occupational Therapy, HCPC Registration and RCOT Membership
- Minimum 2 to 4 years' paediatric Occupational Therapy experience
- Experience supporting neurodiverse children and young people, including autism and sensory processing needs
- Knowledge of Children's Occupational Therapy, SEN support, EHCP processes and Sensory Integration-informed practice
- Strong communication, relationship-building and professional report-writing skills
- Full UK driving licence, own vehicle and ability to manage travel independently across Crondall, Hampshire and surrounding service locations
