Weighbridge Operator:
Charle Muddle Ltd a well-established family-owned metal recycling facility are looking for a reliable and organised Weighbridge Operator to join their busy metal recycling operation.
Based near Billingshurst, West Sussex and operating from a fully licenced 7-acre site, specialising in metal recycling as well as providing a comprehensive service with our own weighbridge and transport solutions to collect and deliver material.
Job Summary:
This is a key front-line role ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of all incoming and outgoing materials at our site.

Key duties/responsibilities
· Operate the site’s weighbridge, accurately recording inbound and outbound vehicle movements
· Daily scheduling of transport
· Coordinate incoming and outgoing loads, ensuring all documentation is completed correctly
· Inspect and photograph loads where required
· Ensure export documentation and compliance requirements are met
· Support the sites health & safety systems, ensuring records and compliance documentation are maintained
· Carry out site inductions for visitors and contractors, ensuring all sign-in procedures are followed
· Monitor and report environmental requirements
· Assist with assay reporting
· Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require
· Foster and promote a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement within the organisation
· Attend any training courses required by the company
· Liaise between functions to ensure teamwork, consistency, coordination and best practice to eliminate losses from poor practices or communication
Skills required:
· Experience in a similar weighbridge, recycling, or logistics role is preferred
· Excellent communication and keyboard skills
· Ability to work under pressure
· Confident level of numeracy
· Ability to prioritise workload in a busy operational environment
· A proactive approach to problem solving
· Strong attention to detail
· Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
· WAMITAB qualification
· HGV CPC desirable but not essential
Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
