Role overview
We are seeking an experienced, reliable Gateman / Banksman to manage site access and vehicle/personnel marshalling at Marne military barracks. The role requires strong verbal communication, strict adherence to site security procedures, and accurate use of tablet/iPad systems to book-in personnel and vehicles.
Key responsibilities
- Control site entrance/egress, check IDs and authorisations, and manage sign-in/sign-out procedures
- Marshal vehicles and guide plant movements safely on site (banksman duties)
- Use iPad or similar devices to book in personnel and vehicles, maintain electronic logs and records
- Enforce site safety and security protocols, report incidents or breaches promptly
- Communicate clearly with contractors, site staff and security teams
- Conduct basic vehicle checks and report defects as required
Essential requirements
- Valid CSCS card
- Valid NPORS Gateman/Banksman card
- Proven experience in gateman/banksman or site traffic management roles (construction environment preferred)
- Confident verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Competent using tablets/iPads for booking/recording information
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Previous experience working on military or secure sites
- Basic first aid awareness
