Nightshift Foreman
Location: Shufflebottom
Salary: £19.00 per hour + 33% Shift Premium
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 5:15pm – 5:45am (4-night working week)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Nightshift Foreman to lead our fabrication team during our permanent night shift. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong technical fabrication knowledge and proven supervisory experience to play a key role in delivering high-quality steel fabrication while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity.
You will be responsible for supervising the nightshift fabrication team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, whilst driving continuous improvement across the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the nightshift fabrication team.
- Ensure production targets are achieved whilst maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture across the workshop.
- Monitor workflow and allocate resources effectively.
- Ensure all fabrication work is completed in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Carry out quality inspections and resolve fabrication issues where required.
- Support training, development and performance management of team members.
- Work closely with Production, Planning and Quality teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
About You
Essential:
- Previous experience supervising a fabrication team within a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.
- Time-served fabrication background with strong technical knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Strong commitment to health & safety and quality standards.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems under pressure.
Desirable:
- Experience working within structural steel fabrication.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement techniques.
- Relevant supervisory or leadership qualifications.
