Location: Millbrook Service Centre, Berkshire
Millbrook Healthcare is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to be based at the Millbrook Service Centre in Berkshire to provide maternity cover for a 12 month fixed term period, with the potential to go permanent after 12 months. This role will involve being a clinical specialist within the Community Equipment Service.
You will work with the Contract Manager, Operations Manager and Strategic Clinical Lead to establish an equipment review project and carry out reviews of service users who have high value community equipment for longer than the specified time, with an aim of recalling and recycling the equipment which is no longer needed.
Key Responsibilities

Work closely with prescribers to promote effective partnership working

Work in partnership and close liaison with Adult Social Care, therapy and community nursing staff in Berkshire, the community equipment service and other agencies as necessary

Work in partnership with retailers, pharmacists and third sector organisations as necessary

Make referrals and recommendations to other services as required – e.g. referral for physiotherapy or community nursing input

Attend or lead meetings as and when required

Be fully conversant and compliant with your professional code of conduct and the requirement of continuous professional development

Accountable for own professional development and actions in line with professional registration requirements, national and local guidelines

Maintain a professional portfolio demonstrating clinical and professional development

Maintain health, safety and security within areas of direct responsibility
About You
-
BSc (Hons) Degree in Occupational Therapy / Diploma equivalent

Registration with HCPC
-
Relevant experience of working within Health or Social Care
-
Experience of working with adults and older people with complex needs
-
Specialist knowledge of equipment and specials
-
Experience of managing a caseload
-
Experience of Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention including moving and handling assessments

Experience of working with a range of partner organisations, particularly domiciliary care agencies
