Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled, Electrical Bias)
Role Overview
As a key part of the Engineering team at Danish Crown's Bugle site, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of butchery, curing and sealing operations. Working a rotating double day shift pattern and reporting to the Engineering Shift Team Leader, you’ll help minimise production downtime through quick response times and proactive maintenance.
What You'll Be Doing
The successful candidate will:
- Provide hands-on maintenance support across butchery, curing and sealing equipment, including fault finding, repairs and improvements.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and inspections to maximise equipment reliability.
- Work closely with Production, Hygiene and Quality teams to support production targets and line performance.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GMP and HACCP requirements.
- Maintain records within the CMMS system and contribute to initiatives that improve performance and reduce downtime.
What You'll Bring
Experience
- Previous experience maintaining industrial production equipment, with particular strength in electrical fault finding and problem solving, ideally with exposure to meat production, food processing or other fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding experience across production machinery and automated equipment.
- Experience working with drives, motors, sensors, controls and industrial machinery.
- Experience responding to breakdowns, carrying out preventative maintenance and supporting continuous improvement activities.
- Comfortable supporting both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities within a fast-paced production environment.
Technical Skills
- Recognised Engineering qualification in Electrical, Multi-Skilled or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong fault-finding capability and a methodical approach to troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Experience working on processing, packaging or manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance and equipment reliability practices.
