We are looking for a Bank Housekeeping Assistant to work at Old Vicarage Nursing Home.

Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain assigned areas of the Home according to established schedules, routines, and standards, ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met and hazard signs are displayed. Assist Care Assistants with bed-making as directed.
- Perform minor routine maintenance on small cleaning and laundry equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and schedules.
- Report any problems, defects, or malfunctions to the Head Housekeeper.
- Monitor supplies of consumables, replenish where necessary, and inform the Head Housekeeper when stocks are running low.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to requests for immediate cleaning assistance throughout the Home.
- Ensure that adequate supplies of domestic consumables are available in general areas, e.g., toilet rolls, soap, paper towels.
- Undertake laundry and ironing tasks as directed, ensuring all bed linen and clothing are washed at appropriate temperatures and in line with established standards.
- Process fouled laundry following Infection Control policies.
- Collect laundry and replenish supplies in residents’ rooms as necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Completed secondary education within the normal timeframe.
- Minimum of one year’s work experience in a care home environment or a similar setting.
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of cleaning and laundry equipment.
- Ability to work outside of normal shift patterns when required, including at short notice.
- Willing, helpful, and enjoys working in elderly care; able to identify and report problems to care staff in a confidential manner.
- Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
