The selection process for this role will be:
Stage 1: Online test
Stage 2: Sift of CV and personal statement
Stage 3: Interview, Presentation and Written Assessment
You must be successful at each stage to progress to the next stage.
Stage 1: Online test
At this stage, you will be assessed against the following Success Profile element:
After submission of the first stage of your application (personal details), you will be invited to complete a Civil Service Numerical test. If you successfully pass the test, you will be invited to complete the full application (please see stage 2: sift for further information).
Please complete the online tests as soon as possible (within 24-48 hours is recommended) to give yourself enough time to complete your full application (please see stage 2: sift for further information). Both the online test and the full application must be completed by the closing date on the advert, otherwise your application will be rejected.
Guidance for the tests will be available when you are invited to take the test. The tests are administered online and accessed via the CS Jobs website.
There will be maintenance for online tests on Sunday 09 August 2026 and Sunday 23 August 2026. This means you will be unable to access the online tests between 4pm and 12pm. Your progress will be saved, and you will be able to continue once the tests are available again.
You will be directed to the Talogy - True Talent Scheduled Maintenance Window Webpage for online tests during an outage.
Stage 2: Sift
At sift, you will be assessed against the following Success Profile elements:
Experience you will be asked to provide a CV (unlimited wordcount) and personal statement (1000-word count). Further details around what this will entail are listed on the application form. Please provide evidence of your Experience of the following:

Where you have demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills

Managed individuals either full-time or in the voluntary sector

Demonstrated command, control and management of operational teams in a pressured environment/situation

Worked independently or remotely (from your manager), managing your time against conflicting demands
The sift will take place the week commencing 31 August 2026.
Stage 3: Interview, Presentation and Written Assessment
At interview stage, you will be assessed against the following Success Profile elements:

You will also be required to create and deliver a presentation and take part in a written exercise, to assess Experience, Communicating and Influencing, Working Together and Changing and Improving. Guidance will be provided if you are invited to interview.
The interviews will take place week from 23 September 2026.
This interview will be conducted in person at our Glasgow MCA Office, Paisley, PA3 2RB. Further details will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.

If your application is successful but you have been dismissed from the Civil Service, your application could be removed at the pre-employment checking stage depending on the nature of the dismissal.
