We are looking for an inspirational and motivated Head of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to come on board to influence inclusion at the College. You will join us with many priorities and ideas to enable our most vulnerable students to receive the same academic excellence and high expectations as every other student.
This role will work with the curriculum team to plan and deliver high-quality teaching and learning for students aged 16–19 with SEND and/ or SENCO, supporting them to achieve their academic, vocational, and personal outcomes and to prepare them for adulthood. The postholder will set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge SEND students by establishing a safe and stimulating environment, rooted in mutual respect.
If successful, you would play a vital role in the College, which is graded as ‘outstanding’ in all categories by Ofsted. Our College excels in providing a broad, inclusive and high-quality education to all of our learners, which has resulted in some of the highest levels of progression to Higher Education in the sector. During the recent exams, students at Joseph Chamberlain College achieved outstanding exam results.

Hours of work: Hours of work will be full-time, over 5 days in line with the teaching contract.
Salary: The salary for this post is paid on the Sixth Form College Teacher’s main scale up to £56,909 per annum, which includes a management allowance of £5195. This is dependent on the teaching experience of the successful candidate.
